Learn methods of importing, storing, organizing, editing, and final polishing of images. Image sizing, card formatting, understanding differences between web and print file types, and external drive storage will be covered. Prerequisite: Beginning Digital Photography. Exploring the Use of Time in Photography Through the use of long exposures, you will explore techniques to encode the element of time into what would otherwise be static imag- es. This process reveals a world that, while very real, is not experienced in real time. With the camera, we will translate this hidden world into a visible form for us to contemplate and make memorable images. Use lead lines, selective manual focus, and appropriate aperture settings to enhance your photos. Prerequisite: Beginning Digital Photography or the consent of the instructor. Using design concepts and technical SLR tools, students will craft abstract images with a mood and message. Class will include lecture, critique, and practice time in the Garden and at the Orchid Show. Dress for the weather. Proficiency with aperture and shutter speed is required. Take inspiration from the world’s great photographers and learn to create your own look. Print up to eight of your images using the Garden’s Epson printers. A personal laptop with Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC installed is required. Prerequi- site: previous classes or similar experience in Lightroom and Photoshop. Fee includes print- ing costs.
