When experimenting with varying styles and finishes, be sure to
balance with constants to keep the interior from looking cluttered.
If you are playing with diverse cabinet finishes, and/or integrating
different styles, keep the counter top material consistent and the
color palette neutral. Accessorize using items with like colors. Life
takes place in our kitchens, and this layout lends itself to a space
that is both utilitarian and also a modern day ‘family room’. This is
the vital place where we prepare meals that feed and sustain the
people most important to us. It should reflect who we are, where
we have been, and where we are going. I hope you feel as inspired
