Equipment provided. Saturday, Jun 21; Sunday, Jul 13 & Sunday, Aug 17 • 10 am–Noon Saganashkee Slough Boat Launch, 107th St, west of S Willow Springs Rd/104th Ave, Willow Springs JUNE Afterlife in the Forest Walk A 2.5-mile guided walk where we learn about decomposition, fungi and the importance of decay in the forest. Friday, Jun 6 • 10 am Spears Woods, 96th Ave, south of W 87th St, Willow Springs Community Book Swap Bring in your gently used books and leave with some new-to-you books. Books can be any genre and reading level. Saturday, Jun 7 • 10 am–1 pm Swallow Cliff Woods-North, Calumet Sag Rd/Rte 83, west of La Grange Rd/96th Ave, Palos Park Southwest Zone What Can Be Done? ❶ Pl ease place fishing line in receptacles around the lakes (it will made into fish habitat or properly disposed of). ❷ Remove all hooks, swivels, sinkers and other trash and place in a trash can. ❸ To reduce the chance of line breaking, use the appropriate test line for the fish you are trying to catch, and replace your line yearly. ❹ Place only fishing line in the receptacles. Help protect wildlife and keep your Forest Preserve lakes clean by picking up discarded line. Fishing Line Can Harm or Kill Wildlife THOUSANDS OF BIRDS and mammals are maimed or killed yearly by the improper use and disposal of fishing line.
