Sunday, Apr 12 • 1 pm Woodcocks at Dusk* Enjoy the spectacle of the woodcocks’ courtship behavior. Ages 10 & up. Tuesday, Apr 14 • 7 pm Wildflower Walk Learn how to identify our early spring wildflowers while enjoying their ephemeral beauty. Ages 13 & up. Saturday, Apr 18 & Sunday, Apr 19 • 1 pm Earth Day of Service* Improve the ecosystem health in the Forest Preserves by participating in ecological restoration. Groups welcome. Ages 12 & up. Wednesday, Apr 22 • 9:30–11:30 am MAY Bienvenidos Birds!* Join us for a presentation inside Sagawau followed by a walk to learn about the bird migration journey from Mexico to the Chicagoland area. Saturday, May 2 • 1 pm Family Garlic Mustard Pull Help remove this invasive species. Equipment provided. Ages 12 & up. Sunday, May 3 • 9:30–11:30 am World Migratory Bird Day: Community Science & Bird Conservation Join us for bird walks, bird banding, special exhibits, presentations and activities to celebrate migratory birds. Saturday, May 9 • 9 am–2 pm Spring Ephemeral Walk* (Accessible) Join us as we take a walk along the paved areas at Sagawau to view spring blooms. Sunday, May 10 • 1 pm Bird Banding Observe the scientific process of bird banding and talk with our banders. Drop-in Sunday, May 17 • 1–3 pm Spring Bees* Join us for a short walk as we observe the unique bees that pollinate the ephemeral spring wildflowers. Saturday, May 23 • 1 pm *Registration required.
