TONY SIQI YUN Canadian-born pianist Tony Siqi Yun was the gold medalist of the 2019 First China Inter- national Music Competition and was recently awarded the Rheingau Music Festival’s Lot- to-Förderpreis, setting the stage for his fast-ris- ing career as a soloist and recitalist. Across the 2024/25 season, the 23-year-old musician has been a featured soloist with the Nashville Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, and Colo- rado Springs Philharmonic, among other or- chestras. He also returned to China to appear with orchestras in Shanghai and Guangzhou. His busy recital schedule over the past year included debuts on the San Francisco Sym- phony’s Shenson Spotlight Series and concerts presented by Washington Performing Arts and Friends of Chamber Music Denver. Yun made his Carnegie Hall debut during the 2023/24 sea- son under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin with Orchestre Metropolitain, following his 2022/23 season debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra with the conductor, who led his final performance at the First China International Music Competition. His recent engagements as a soloist have included performances with the Toronto Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Buffalo Philharmon- ic, Hamilton (ON) Philharmonic, and Rhode Island Philharmonic, as well as the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra outside North America. Yun’s cham- ber music credits include concerts under the auspices of Stanford Live, La Jolla Music So- ciety, Gilmore Rising Stars Series, New York’s 92nd Street Y, and the Vancouver Recital Se- ries in North America, plus performances at the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, and Philharmo- nie Luxembourg. Yun is a 2024 graduate of The Juilliard School, where he was a recipient of the Jerome L. Greene Fellowship and studied with Yoheved Kaplinsky and Matti Raekallio. Tony Siqi Yun is making his Ravinia debut.
