ALABAMA SHAKES e Athens, AL-raised band Alabama Shakes— comprising vocalist/guitarist Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, and bassist Zac Cockrell— exploded onto the scene in with their de- but album Boys & Girls (ATO Records), which entered Billboard ’s Independent Albums chart at number one. Boys & Girls earned the band multiple Grammy nominations and was hailed as one of the year’s best albums by numerous publications, including Rolling Stone , which also named lead single “Hold On” the number-one song of . Soon a er the release, the band- mates found themselves thrust into the global spotlight, achieving such milestones as perform- ing at the White House and on Saturday Night Live . e band’s legacy continued to grow with the groundbreaking Sound & Color (ATO Re- cords). Released years ago, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard and won Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Al- bum and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classi- cal. e rst single, “Don’t Wanna Fight,” took honors in the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song categories. LIAMKAZAR Liam Kazar is a Chicago-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter whose music nds folk, rock, pop, jazz, and alt-country within moments of each other. Raised in a rich musical commu- nity and performing from a young age, Kazar honed his cra through years of collaboration and touring with artists like Je Tweedy, Han- nah Cohen, and many others. His solo work began in with his debut Due Nort h, a boisterous o ering full of existential fears and manic guitar arrangements. Now, Kazar returns with Pilot Light , his long-awaited sophomore album and most emotionally candid release to date. Produced by Sam Evian and featuring contributions from close collaborators, Pilot Light nds Kazar exploring the enduring em- bers of love, heartbreak, and personal growth. Stripped-down and sonically direct, the album moves with a quiet con dence—its vulnerable songwriting and intimate arrangements illu- minating Kazar’s evolution into a singular and resonant voice in indie music.
