WYATT PARR

A Chicago native, Wyatt

Parr has been singing

with Chicago Children’s

Choir since September

2016 and currently sings

in the Lincoln Park/

DePaul Neighborhood

Choir. In June 2017, he sang the boy soprano

solo in Bernstein’s

Chichester

Psalms

with CCC

at its annual Paint the Town Red event at Mil-

lennium Park. Parr has also performed with the

Lyric Opera of Chicago in its productions of Bi-

zet’s

Carmen

and Puccini’s

Turandot

as a mem-

ber of the children’s chorus, and he will return to

the company this fall in the children’s chorus for

Puccini’s

La bohème

.

MYRA SAHAI

Myra Sahai has been

a member of Chicago

Children’s Choir for

two years and current-

ly sings in the Lincoln

Park/DePaul Neighbor-

hood Choir. This fall,

she will be performing with the Lyric Opera of

Chicago in the children’s chorus for its produc-

tion of Puccini’s

La bohème

. Outside of singing,

Sahai is a talented pianist and has performed at

musical festivals at Northwestern University.

CHICAGO CHILDREN’S CHOIR

Founded as a single choir in Hyde Park at the height of the civil rights movement in 1956, today Chi-

cago Children’s Choir serves 4,800 youth who represent all 57 Chicago ZIP codes. CCC’s mission is

to unite youth from diverse backgrounds to become global citizens through music, achieved through

programs in 85 city schools and 10 neighborhoods, including an ensemble for boys with changing

voices and the world-renowned Voice of Chicago. CCC has undertaken many highly successful na-

tional and international tours, most recently to Italy, Cuba, India, and South Africa. The choir has been

featured on nationally broadcast television and radio performances, including NBC’s

Today

Oprah

,

and the PBS series

From the Top: Live from Carnegie Hall

, and it was featured in the Chicago/Midwest

Emmy Award–winning documentary

Songs on the Road to Freedom

(2008). CCC regularly collab-

orates with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Ravinia Festival, and it

recently worked with Chance the Rapper on his Grammy Award–winning mixtape

VOCALITY

Vocality is a festival chorus comprising alumni and current members of Chicago Children’s Choir

as well as young vocal artists from a wide array of communities within and surrounding the city of

Chicago. Founded by Josephine Lee, president and artistic director of Chicago Children’s Choir, in

2015, Vocality strives to exemplify the highest level of choral singing with an emphasis on excellence

and diversity among its membership. The chorus gave its inaugural performance at Ravinia, appearing

with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and conductor Bobby McFerrin in Gershwin’s
