AUDITORIUM THEATRE 2014-2015
| 13
You can become part of the
Auditorium Theatre’s 125th anniversary season!
A MOMENT IN TIME
Friends like you are the reason the Auditorium Theatre
has persevered for 125 years. Our 125th anniversary is
another step forward in etching our mark on the cultural
landscape of Chicago, and the world—and the kindness
of good people like you provide the fiber and the future
of our mission. We would like to extend our deepest
and most profound gratitude to everyone who has
helped make the Auditorium Theatre what it is today…we
simply couldn’t do this without you.
As part of our celebratory
125th year, we have placed a
canvas banner in the lobby
located on the west wall
near the bust of Ferdinand
Peck, the man who acted as
both visionary and driving
force behind the theatre’s
inception. For a gift of $125,
you can sign your name to
this commemorative canvas.
The banner will continue
to hang in our lobby until
August, 2015. It will then be
placed in a time capsule un-
til it is unveiled at our 200th
anniversary in 75 years.
We hope you will take ad-
vantage of this one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become
part of the Auditorium Theatre’s legacy. Your gift will
not only help sustain the Auditorium theatre, it will allow
you to entwine your name with the long history of this
National Historic Landmark.
WE HAVE OUR MEMORIES…
WHAT ARE YOURS?
The Auditorium Theatre’s exceptional history spans 125
years. Throughout that time, an insurmountable number
of historic and cultural figures have graced our stage.
Booker T. Washington spoke on civil rights, Sarah Ber-
nhardt performed at the height of her fame, and Anna
Pavlova bid farewell to her loving audiences. American
soldiers bowled on our stage during World War II, Jimi
Hendrix rocked out at the
height of his career, and the
Beach Boys played to sold
out houses. Later, Les Mis-
erables moved thousands
to tears while the Bolshoi
Ballet inspired all.
The Auditorium’s
3,800-seat-house has been
filled time and again over
the last 125 years…and each
of those individuals has an
invaluable memory of their
time here--including you.
Now that our 125th anni-
versary season is upon us,
you have the opportunity to
share your memory on our
“Memory Wall,” a permanent
installation to be built on the north wall of the Auditori-
um Theatre’s lobby.
Whether it’s seeing The Who, or a “who’s who” of Amer-
ican dance…whether watching a child’s eyes light up
during a performance of The Nutcracker or marveling at
the beauty of Adler and Sullivan’s vision... those experi-
ences can now be recorded forever. And whatever your
favorite memory of the Auditorium might be—witnessing
a performance or marveling at the architecture, attend-
ing an event or experiencing a show with your friends—
you can now share it in a permanent place for future
generations to enjoy.

portunities or other ways you can help the Auditorium
